Is it possible there is another parallel universe out there? Something like what happens in the Golden Compass?
Another parallel universe accessible only by those with the subtle knife is the only explanation for newstories like this one:
Iran and Finland signed an MOU to enhance scientific studies and research in the fields of geology and mining, the Geological Survey of Iran (GSI) reported on Tuesday. The sides’ geology organizations inked the agreement on petrology, radiometric dating, geophysics, training, professor and student exchange and other related fields of cooperation.
The GSI head, Mohammad Reza Korehi, announced that the year 2008 has been denominated as the international year of “The Planet Earth”, calling for global geology organizations to expand their relations with each other. The International Year of the Planet Earth aims to capture people’s imagination with the exciting knowledge we possess about our planet, and to see this knowledge used to make Earth a safer, healthier and wealthier place for our children and grandchildren.

Maybe this is not another universe of which I read. Maybe this is not even science fiction. Maybe they just want to find more uranium to make those bombs they need to support denial of the holocaust.
