We are investing in education- our daughter's return to McGill, to get a teaching certificate for teaching special needs children.
I admire that!
Any extra cash we come across will be invested in her home where we may very well find our demented selves in years to come. I am sure that I would want it to be comfortable, if I knew...
We want to give her the inheritance before we (dare I say it) croak. We want to watch her and her family spend it and enjoy it. We will have some comfort in knowing that the government will not be scooping up 50% of our hard earned, harder saved money after all.
Buy the stove! Interest free/no payments for 3 years! Get one with the warming oven, convection, self cleaning, etc.etc. You are an engineer and should be able to figure out the instruction booklet. One of my projects this year is to read the instruction booklet on my nearly- new (2008) Frigidaire stove.
Buy gold. I remember when it was $32. an oz. (1960's) Who knew?
