The Vail conference on Tailings & Mine Waste 2010 is past and the bound volume of proceedings is rapidly migrating to the back of the bookshelf. If you did not attend the conference and do not have a copy of the proceedings, here is how you can access many of the excellent presentations that were made during the conference. Simply click on this link and you will be taken to a listing of the PowerPoint presentations of those presenters who gave us permission to post on InfoMine.
We must thank them and recommend that you take some time out to view their presentations. We hope that seeing their presentations induces you to purchase a copy of the proceedings so that you can read the full papers. Alternatively contact the authors and ask them for a copy of their paper. Most will be honored to oblige.
If you click the link above, you will find presentations on: acid rock drainage; dry stack tailings; liners for uranium piles; theoretical soil mechanics applied to tailings; and case histories. Enjoy. As I trust you enjoy the first picture that has nothing to do with tailings—the signage just fascinated me. And enjoy the picture below which is of filter-pressed tailings being dumped at the dry stack.
