Jack,

I recently found your blog and it has been a wealth of information! I have been researching the mining industry and more specifically mineral sands. My company has a client that is searching for full time Mining Engineers ranging between Jr and Sr level along with a Mine Process Engineer and a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer.

I read your post on writing resumes and was wondering if you might have any suggestions on where to look for people in the mining industry that are searching for jobs.

I’d appreciate any advice you might have.

Jack,

I just found your blog, and perhaps you can help me.

I am an economist and we are working with an engineering firm that is studying some new procedures on civil engineering projects.

One of the engineers, raised using old mining tailings for fill and leveling. According to him the consistency of most mill tailings, is the perfect consistency and perhaps cheaper than getting similar material for a gravel pit.

How would I identify sites of tailings, owners, or abandoned etc?

As a mining engineer, I was thinking of starting a similar blog but perhaps I’ll just vent here periodically. My pet peeve has been the misinformation/misdirection that still occurs out there in the mining world, largely by (Howe St.) promoters who have gotten a lot slicker over the years, There is one gold promotion in BC that currently annoys me since they have gotten some reputable firms to support their obviously flawed orebody assessment and are now using this to raise a large sum of money from the unsuspecting. The good ole’ nugget effect being ignored. I imagine some of these firms doing NI 43-101′s don’t appreciate the future lawsuits they are opening themselves up to.
